INAUGURAL “NUT BALL” TO BE HELD AT THE ORIGINAL MOTHER’S

Comedy Short Film Fest with a $300 Cash Prize for Best in Fest

(CHICAGO, IL) – The Original Mother’s, located at 26 West Division in Chicago, home to the Indie Incubator Film Fest, which just marked its fourteenth installment this May, will now also host their inaugural “Nut Ball” on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Nut Ball is a short film fest honoring the comedic genre, solely.

Also created by the guys behind Indie Incubator, Nut Ball will follow a similar format, but it will be nothing but laughs.  Also like Indie Incubator, Nut Ball will NOT charge filmmakers a submission fee, and there will be NO cover charge to attend Nut Ball…that’s just insane!

Hosted by award winning comic book creators and filmmakers, Matt Kubinski and Charles Klein (the guys behind Indie Incubator), will also host a post party to follow for the rest of the night.
Doors will open at 8:00pm on Tuesday, July 31st for Nut Ball. There will be at least 2 hours of running time with short intermissions throughout. Admission is FREE.  $5 Goose Island and $5 4Rebels Vodka cocktails will be the featured specials and FREE movie popcorn. Attendees must be 21 and over.

Submit a film for no fee! Filmmakers who would like to enter a film should contact mattk@rushanddivision.com.  Trailers and music videos are also accepted.
Every Nut Ball filmmaker will take home something, but the big award for “Biggest of Balls” is decided by the judge’s panel and earns a $300 cash prize.  Additional awards such as “LOL” and the “BEST JOKE” provide bragging rights for the filmmakers who receive them.   The judging panel consists of working professionals in the Chicago film, and comedy community.  Past judges have included Kathy Byrne from the City of Chicago’s Film Office, Eddie Griffin Producer of Image Union and Ryan “The Movie Guy” Jagiello of Cinemajaw.com.

The Original Mother’s is located at 26 West Division Street in Chicago – 312-642-7251.
