Fourth Annual “Super Chili Bowl” at Mahoney’s Pub & Grille

(CHICAGO, IL) – Who will take home the coveted “Super Chili Bowl” trophy and earn the right to claim the best chili in Chicago?  Find out on Saturday, February 5 from 2pm to 6pm at Mahoney’s Pub & Grille!  Some of  the area’s best chili-slingin’ joints, including Mahoney’s Pub & Grille, J. Patrick’s, D’Agostino’s, and more to be announced, will enter to compete in this all-you-can-eat chili fest, but only one will go home the champion.  Last year, Butch McGuire’s walked away the champs.  Who will claim the title this year?  The competition will be judged in two categories:  Regular and Exotic, in a double-blind test taste, and patron’s will decide!

Chili eaters may also sign up to take part in the Chili Eating Contest for bragging rights and some super prizes, courtesy of Guinness and Jameson. The contest will occur at 4pm, and participants will have three minutes to devour the most hot-n-spicy chili then can, to claim victory!

Local Chicago Red Hot Chili Pepper cover band, Funky Monks, will provide live music for every chili-lovers listening pleasure.  A $5 donation to at the door is requested to benefit Chicago Neighbors United [http://chicnu.org/], a community based organization which provides educational scholarships to inner city youth, is happy to be the beneficiary of this top-of-the-line good time.  $6 20-ounce Guinness drafts and $5 Jameson shots will be featured to help the chili down the hatch.
