(CHICAGO, IL) – Two days of Cinco de Mayo celebrations will take place on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5, and will both feature a good time with great live music and entertainment!

On Friday, May 4, 2012, Mahoney’s Pub & Grille will offer  live music from the FUNKY MONKS http://www.funkymonksmusic.com/, a nationally touring the Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band and more, for their annual “Cinco de Ogden” spectacular.  The Funky Monks will be on stage at 10pm, and there will be no cover charge.

She-nannigans House of Beer will have live music from the electrofunk trio, GHOSTHOUSE http://ghosthousechicago.bandcamp.com/, with special guests Kevin Flynn & the Avondale Ramblers http://www.kevin-flynn.com/fr_home.cfm, on Saturday, May 5 at 16 West Division in Chicago for their annual “Cinco Division” celebration.  B96 [WBBM-FM] radio will broadcast live from the venue from 6pm to 10pm.  Music will start at 8pm, and there will be no cover charge. Plus, an authentic roaming mariachi band will also entertain everyone at all the famous pubs and clubs on the Division Street strip throughout the day and evening of Cinco Division.

“Cinco de Ogden” and “Cinco Division” are both for patrons 21 and over.  Bottles of ice-cold of Corona cerveza will be $5.50 at both locations. ¡Viva Mexico!

Eleven Near North St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Locations on March 17

(CHICAGO, IL) – Everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago.  Eleven near north Irish-centric clubs and pubs: The Original Mother’s, River Shannon, Mahoney’s Pub & Grille, Downtown Dogs, She-nannigans, Pippin’s Tavern, Streeter’s Tavern, Bootleggers, The Hangge-Uppe, Mother’s Too and The Lodge Tavern are the places to celebrate.

Want to make friends green with envy?  Be the chosen one to dye the Chicago River green plus 500 green ones – yes that’s $500 cash!  It starts on Thursday, March 15, at She-nannigans where the band Red Pop Fury [http://www.reverbnation.com/redpopfury] will perform live from 9pm to 11pm.  93XRT’s Jason Thomas will raffle off the chance to dye the Chicago River green to one possible winner during a night of promotions.  The first promotion will take place at Bootleggers from 10:30pm to 11:30pm and then at The Original Mother’s from 11:30pm to 12:30am.  All this entertainment is offered free-of-charge for patrons 21 and over.

Shamrock Around the Block on Division Street on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17. Irish pipers, drummers, leprechauns on stilts and unicycles with other tomfoolery will roam the Rush and Division Street area throughout the day.  Live music from The Four Man Band http://fourmanband.com/ will also take place from 2pm to 4pm at She-nannigans.

The St. Patrick’s Day party continues into River West at Mahoney’s Pub & Grille as they host the City of Chicago Pipe Band at 4pm, the Dillon-Gavin School of Irish Dance dancers at 5pm, and a live party-rock band at 6pm into the evening.

$3.50 Miller Lite drafts (throughout the month of March at all locations) plus green draft beers will flow like the River Shannon.  Slainte!

Division Street Turns into a Comedic Bourbon Street with

“Comedy Gras” in Chicago

Open Mic – Stand Up – Sketch Comedy – Comedy Karaoke – After Party – Charitable, too!

(CHICAGO, IL) – Division Street in the Gold Coast is known for affable revelry the likes of Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras, and this  Fat Tuesday, February 21, Division Street will offer a cavalcade of comedy with “Comedy Gras”.  It is all for a good cause, too.  A portion of the night’s proceeds will go to the New Orleans Musicians Clinic [http://www.neworleansmusiciansclinic.org/], a cause devoted to preserving a national heritage of original music and helping musicians still in need in the New Orleans area.

At Bootleggers from 7pm to 8pm, there will be an Open Mic Comedy Challenge, hosted by She-nannigans last Comedy Challenge winner, Michael Larimer, featured here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqZNnnt72F4&feature=related .  This Open Mic is open to anyone interested in competing – just walk up and sign in.

Over at She-nannigans House of Beer from 8pm to 9pm, there will be an All Star Stand Up from past Comedy Challenge winners featuring Drew Michael and Joe Kilgallon from “Comedians You Should Know”.  These comedians, and others, will be competing for $500 cash, to be awarded at the end of the evening.

Then it’s time to step across the street to The Original Mother’s for some sketch comedy from The Pepper Grinders Comedy http://www.youtube.com/user/hlpalex?ob=0 and the Wood Sugars Comedy  http://www.youtube.com/user/WoodSugars?ob=0 sketch groups from 9pm to 10pm.

Mother’s Too will offer Comedy Karaoke all night long, while The Lodge Tavern will be the after-party for all the festivities until 4am.

$6 Don Q Hurricanes will be the featured cocktail of the evening at all venues, and Bootleggers will offer Pat O’Brien’s World Famous Hurricane mix, too.  Let the good times roll!

Along Division Street, street freaks and stilt walkers will spread the cheer and toss out beads until it’s time to repent!   There will be no cover charge at any venue, and all patrons must be 21 and over.
